Local Priorities Anti Social Behaviour Concern Update

Please review the following update regarding Anti Social Behaviour which some members around this area have highlighted as an issue of concern on the Met Engage priority survey.

 

Patrols led by PS Akach & Inspector Weeden with support from Metropolitan Special Constabulary s/Insp Jason Davis, saw team patrol, engage and undertake enforcement action, at key locations of concern, reportedly experiencing anti social behaviour in the following areas

1. Brockerish Avenue
2. Stratton Drive
3. Woodbridge Ave
4. Cavendish Gardens
5. Faircross Parade Rear of shops
6. Beccles Drive
7. Lovelace Gardens
8. Mayesbrook Park (Claire Gardens)
9. Barking Park
10. Barking Town Centre Sunningdale Avenue and Lidls

The team responded to an immediate call to vicinity to address fight in progress. Following investigation it was found a robbery had been committed in Barking Park, and a male was arrested after being positively identified, by the team. The male was conveyed to custody. Victim was supported and victim care provided.

Further engagement and visibility at a range of locations identified further outcomes linked to 7 stop and search, 1 intelligence report and lots of engagement with residents in Barking Park.

Further patrols will continue throughout the summer period in key locations working with local community and local authority throughout.

Further patrols planned for Ice House and Hepworth Gardens over next week. Barking and Mayesbrook Parks will remain a key focus for the teams over next few weeks.



Antisocial behaviour can come in many forms and can require support from more organisations than just the police. There are 13 different types of antisocial behaviour that we may be able to help with, including abandoned vehicles, littering or drugs paraphernalia and street drinking.
